Border Art: Adinkra & Kuba
Adinkcloth

Section of an Adinkra whole cloth (left) from Kumasi, Ghana
with several Adinkra symbols printed in black ink derived from tree bark.

Okara Jazzy Clipz 2 includes a magnificent set of Adinkra symbol border frames based on 19 different Adinkra symbols. These symbols signify a tradition or Proverb in Ghanaian Culture and are stamped on cloths sewn together with Kente strips as shown.

Okara´s Adinkra symbols include the traditional design rendered in black and white, but we also provide various, usually 4 or 5 in number. Below is an example of one such symbol and variations, Kramo Bone Yeahnu Kramao Pa, which serves as a warning against deception and hypocracy:

Please note that we will have a border design catalogue page for the Adinkra symbols soon.
